When we were on our trip early in September, I stopped in a fudge shop. It was a rainy day, and some of us went browsing at some nearby shops. The mint (green colored) swirl fudge looked sooo good. I just bought some regular fudge (and gave it to Mom :-)), but I'd LOVE to know how to make the other! Does anyone have any good recipes?
Thanks,

My favorite recipe for fudge is one bag of semisweet chocolate chips with one can of sweetened condensed milk. You melt those together then add just a tsp of vanilla and put into greased glass pan. Let set to harden.
We have swirled in chopped candy canes with white chocolate chips, swirled in peanut butter, swirled in the mint chocolate chips (melted). The mint chips were brown so you wouldn't get the same visual effect but YUMMY!! Annette |

What I would do is make your regular fudge recipe. Then melt some white chocolate chips and add a little bit of green food PASTE (which can be found in a cake decorating section). Add a little bit of mint flavoring (also can be found in cake decorating section or in most grocery stores) and swirl this through your regular fudge recipe. Do NOT add green food coloring. It will destroy the texture of the chocolate. Make sure it's the paste : ) Hope that helps! |

The fudge recipe I use is 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 cups marshmellows, 3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips. Melt in the microwave then add 1tsp vanilla.
For vanilla fudge use white chocolate chips. I made mint last year by adding mint flavoring, which was already green! It came out slightly runnier than the chocolate, but I layered it and it was yummy! |

Sarah,
I was at the store today and saw mint choc chips that were green and chocolate. If you know about Andes mints then they looked like that (it said Andes on the package). I only glanced but I thought of you when I saw them! HTH a little.

Thank you ladies!
I made a recipe off the internet that I found, and it came out pretty well! It was a two layer fudge (chocolate and then the mint). I swirled the mint instead of making it a layer.
Thank you for all your suggestions - I'll keep them in mind for the next time I make it - hopefully soon :-)!

Sarah,
Can you please post the recipe or the address of the site it is on? We would love to have a good mint fudge recipe as that is one of our favorites!
Thank You

I'm sorry I didn't get this last night! Here's the link - [HYPERLINK@www.hungrymonster.com] Instead of making a mint layer, I sort of swirled it. It didn't give quite the "look" I wanted, so I'm going to experiment a bit more!

Thank you, Sarah. I will take a look at this. My dd (miss mollie on the daughters board) has been trying alot of fudge recipes lately and we haven't found exactly the taste we want yet. I LOVE mint and chocolate flavors together in anything so I was watching your original post to see if there were any good recipes out there!

Your recipe is very similar to ASM's. This is also the recipe that I use for fudge because it is very easy to make and very delicious.
Why not make two batches of fudge, one brown chocolate and the other white chocolate with green food coloring and mint flavor using ASM's recipe. Then you could pour the brown chocolate in the pan fist, smooth it out, then drop by spoonfuls the green chocolate, and swirl. Seems like this will give you what you want. I might even try some, I love mint & chocolate.
I also have a mint chocolate brownie recipe that we LOVE!
I will be happy to share it with you if you are interested.
