We were given Wild Rice for Christmas and I've not ever done anything more with it than mixing it with brown rice. Does anyone have a good recipe for it?

Thanks.

We take wild rice, cook it till just tender, add browned hamburger, cream of __________ soup (usally I use celery or mushroom) mix all together in a dish and bake it. We will add regular rice to make it go further.

My grandfather use to cook it and then eat it as hot cereal. He just adds a little butter.

Just a couple of ideas that popped in. HTH

Here's a rice pilaf:

1 cup cooked brown rice
1 cup wild rice
1 carrot, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped fine
1 can mushrooms, chopped
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 T butter

Saute celery and onion in butter until onion is translucent. Add carrots and cook a few more minutes. Add mushrooms (if using canned, add the juice). Cook all together for 5 minutes. Season to taste, I use salt and a pinch of red pepper. Add beaten eggs and stir until scrambled into the mixture. Add cooked rice and stir together well. Add more butter if desired.
