I did a search and only came up with one thread with hamburger recipes. Hamburger was on sale last week, so I bought extra. Now, the problem is, we are burned out on spaghetti and meatloaf. Any new recipes that you ladies would be willing to share. Thank you in advance! Lori |

I have a good one :-)!
You can do taco meat. Here's how we do ours. Just brown the hamburger meat and drain the fat. Then pour in salsa and enough water to cover the top of the meat. We like ours spicy so we put a nice amount of salsa in. Let the mixture simmer throughout the day, and stir occasionally. Turn it down to low when it looks like normal taco meat with some juice :-). Then, you can use it several different ways! In tortillas OR hamburger buns :-)! It really is good!

What about Stroganoff, chili, vegetable beef soup, meatball sandwiches or sloppy joes? What about hamburgers with an interesting cheese (I'm partial to blue cheese or smoked cheese)? |

HERE IS A GOOD ONE:
1lb of hamburger
1 can of cream of Mushroom soup
a 16 oz bag of mixed veggies
a little bit of diced up onions (optional)
Cheese
Tator tots
Cook you r veggies in the microwave until done. Fry up your hamburger drain Then add the mushroom soup. mix in oinion and veggies.Place in a pan then cover top with cheeseThen put a layer of tator tots on top.Place in oven cook until tator tots are done.
Here is another:
Fry up a pound of hamburger add some onions garlic and seasoning salt. Drain. Place in a pan. Then layer the second layer with mash potatoes(I use leftovers)Then for the 3rd layer add a 16oz packaged of cooked mixed veggies( you can use just green beans or brocolli)Then a layer of cheese then a layer of french's onion.
I just throw it in the oven long enough to melt the cheese.
These go over pretty good here and are easy to make.

We just had hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes with peas last night! This is really good and a favorite in our house.
Brown handburger and some chopped onion, drain fat, season with salt and pepper, add some flour (I don't measure just dump - maybe ¼ cup or so?), brown a couple minutes, add milk (again, I don't measure, just dump maybe 1-2 cups ?), stir and heat up until thickened, spoon over mashed potatoes and top with some peas (we like canned peas).
Chili is another hamburger favorite in our house.
SLOPPY JOES
1 pound ground beef
4 tbsp. (¼ cup) Sugar
2 tbsp. Mustard
2 tbsp. White vinegar
6 tbsp. Catsup
6 tbsp. Chili sauce
1 small onion (optional)
1 green or red bell pepper (optional)
Brown ground beef (onions and peppers), drain. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 20 min.
Doubled recipe.
2 pounds of ground beef
½ c. sugar
¼ c. mustard
¼ c. white vinegar
¾ c. catsup
¾ c. chili sauce

Another one I thought of:
Mix browned hamburger with a large can of baked beans (Bushes or Hanover or store brand). Our children love this. |

This recipe is called Grand Ground. I got it from an issue of Keepers at Home magazine (which I highly recommend, by the way.) This is my own adaptation and may not exactly match the published original, but my entire family loves it. (That's pretty incredible because we have some picky eaters.)
1 pound of browned ground beef
1 can of cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1/4 cup (or so) of ketchup
1 can of refrigerated biscuits
Mix the first three ingredients, then place canned biscuits on top and bake.
It really sounded strange to me the first time we had it, but it's really yummy!

Happy house wife,
Could you please tell me about your cabbage rolls? My family loves steamed cabbage and slaw.
Thanks |

I got this recipe off of the internet and have no clue where it is. I boiled the cabbage in a big stock pot. Then I took a mixture of ground beef and cooked rice and rolled them in the cabbage leaves. It seems like we used a tomato based sauce to cover the whole thing. |
