I see much advice here for hand-made bread, but not so much for machine bread. It seems the more whole wheat I use, the looser it gets! I hand-grind hard red wheat, twice, with a bit of spelt and flaxseed sprinkled in. I am only using half whole wheat and half bread flour! Does anyone know what is causing it to not hold together? I keep trying different things but have not found a good solution, save to reduce the whole wheat, which is not what I wanted to do. It rises fine and tastes fine, but you can hardly pick it up without it disintegrating. Thanks for any advice!

Perhaps you need to use slightly less flour - it sounds like it might be a bit dry. I find that my loaves turn out so much better when the dough is wet and soft, yet doesn't stick to everything. I do not use a bread machine though, so I am not sure how that would be different.
