Hello! I am looking for some recipes that use yellow split peas other than split pea soup! A friend gave me about 5 lbs of these along with 3 lbs of green split peas. HELP!
Thank you!

My family would want them all to go into Golden Soup because they just love it. Sorry I've never used them for anything else. Do know that they stay good for a very long time.
Do you have a favorite split pea soup recipe?

Here's the recipe for Golden Soup
1 pound yellow split peas
1 cup smoked sausage or chopped ham
1 Tbsp oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup shopped celery
2 cloves garlic minced
12 cups water
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup chopped fresh parsley

Saute meat, onion and garlic in the oil. Add water, peas, celery. Bring to simmer, cook for 2 hours, stir and scrape bottom of pot occassionally. Add carrots, parsley. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes. Stir often as it thickens. We serve with cornbread. YUMMY!!!
Enjoy, Annette
